he Maserati Ghibli made its debut in 1966 at the prestigious Turin motor show. It was equipped with a powerful four-cam V8 90° 4.7 engine, which produced an impressive 335 horsepower. This engine originated in the legendary Maserati 450s racing cars and was later enlarged to 4.9 liters for the "SS" version. With a staggering top speed of 275 km/h (!), the Ghibli was on par with its Italian rival, the Ferrari 365GTB Daytona.

The design of the Ghibli was realized by none other than Giorgetto Giugiaro, for the renowned design house Ghia. He succeeded in creating a perfectly balanced and timeless design, making the Ghibli today considered one of the most stunning automotive designs ever. The interplay of pure elegance and brute force makes this Ghibli, named after a Sahara desert wind, an authentic Italian GT car of unprecedented allure.
