Matching Number DB5 Full Restoration

We currently have available the very rare opportunity to build an Aston Martin DB5 to your dream specification.

Originally delivered to its first owner on the 31st of January 1964 as a Right Hand Drive car in Silver Birch over Grey Leather, this motor car is currently undergoing a ground up restoration at Aston Workshop. The chassis has been fully restored and a new body has been fitted; the next step of the build is to choose the final specification and have Aston Workshop build you a magnificent example of one of the worlds most desired cars.

Introduced to the world in October 1963 at the Earls Court Motor Show, the DB5 combined all of the strengths of the Series V DB4 with improved levels of refinement and an improved 4.0 litre engine. Described by contemporary motoring journalists as a car that “defies definition for it … always seems tailored to one’s mood of the moment”, the DB5 was equally at home on the busy streets of Paris as it was cruising down the Italian Riviera. Where the DB5 most stood out however was on the silver screen, arguably stealing the show in Sean Connery’s third outing as James Bond, Goldfinger. The film star car, resplendent in its now famous Silver Birch exterior colour, cemented the DB5 as a motoring icon.

As an original Silver Birch/Grey car, our car left the factory as the same specification as the Goldfinger star, adding a level of authenticity over other DB5s that have been repainted to replicate James Bond’s vehicle of choice. If you’d prefer a more unique specification however, there is no reason why another exterior and interior colour combination can’t be chosen as the car is currently in the bare metal stage of restoration. Having completed numerous Aston Martin restorations, including many of this model, Aston Workshop is uniquely well set up to build your dream DB5.

The car will be built using an engine block and crank manufactured here at Aston Workshop, producing a smoother and more reliable engine than the ones that left the factory back in 1964. Although the car was originally supplied as a Right Hand Drive car we have the skills and experience to make the conversion to Left Hand Drive if required; the rarity of LHD DB5s often adds value to the car over the level of the cost of conversion. Our bespoke restoration project also allows for a selection of upgrades and enhancements to be fitted, ranging from mechanical upgrades such as our Monte Carlo handling kit and electric power steering to modern conveniences like air conditioning and mobile phone connectivity.

If you'd like to build your dream DB5, our helpful sales team are happy to discuss the car in further detail; please call +44 (0) 1207 268 932 or email sales@aston.co.uk.
